About Me

I'm a Georgia grown girl who grew up in a town who's tag line is "Where Everybody's somebody"...seriously it's on the sign when you enter the city limits... I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from UGA, and I am a hospitality designer by day. Though my profession is technically interior designer, I am not much of a decorator. I prefer tile, finishes, furniture and power tools, but break out in hives when deciding on fabric, accessories or using my rather dusty old sewing machine. While I have a great attention to detail at my day job, I lose interest quickly in my own projects and tend to take the quickest road to completion because I want to shift to the next big idea I came up with...I am trying to improve upon that!

I spend most of my work week drawing, drawing, and drawing some more {all via the computer} from AutoCAD to Photoshop to InDesign. I desperately need a creative outlet that is my own, so I'm attempting to find what my personal style is while I design and decorate our first {and hopefully only} home. I used to LOVE writing {ever since my inaugural poem "Balloons Balloons" in third grade}, and I decided to jump on the blog train and get back into it.

A lot of the blogging will be about the house, but given my inability to focus on one thing at a time there will be plenty of randomness - cooking, organizing, gardening, and whatever else I convince my husband to help me create or transform.

  1. Hello! I found your blog while looking for Ikea hacks. What a nice surprise to find out that we live in neighboring towns. I'm looking forward to getting caught up on your posts.

    Happy New Year!
